It’s certainly been an interesting year for Knock Once For Yes. We have grown considerably, even if our stats took a hit with the new download recording system. We are glad to have had so many of you join us on our facebook group and we really love interacting with you all.  We had no idea when we started the podcast that so many of you would get on board with the idea and share your experiences with us. It has been very rewarding and touching to receive and recount your often quite personal experiences. Having both had various paranormal encounters throughout our lives, we know how difficult it can sometimes be to share them, and our aim has always been to provide a non-judgemental platform upon which to do so. We hope some of you have found a community and a catharsis through this.

Aside from the time it takes to research, record and produce the show, one of the main factors stopping us from making more frequent episodes was not having enough listeners stories to make it viable. Luckily we are starting to receive more stories, but we are still not at a level that will allow us to produce more podcasts. We do believe though that 2018 is going to bring more listeners and thus more stories to allow us to bring you more episodes! You can help us achieve this by sharing Knock Once for Yes on social media and with anyone you know with an interest in the paranormal.

Of course, a lack of listeners stories is not the only reason for the monthly schedule. Both Lil and I currently work full time as well as researching, going on visits, writing, recording, mixing, publishing and advertising the podcast. Unluckily or perhaps luckily—I’m not sure yet—it looks like I’m going to be made redundant early in 2018. Whilst it was a pipedream that one day we might be able to work on the show full time, it looks like I’m being given an opportunity to give it a real go. Obviously we are not yet at a stage where we can both work full time on the show. We are eternally grateful for our Patrons supporting us financially, but we are certainly not making enough from this to live on. I do though, have some marketable skills in audio production and have recently started my own company, Narrative Audio Ltd. So if you know of anybody needing some audio mixing and production skills, please point them my way. I’m also collaborating with a fellow audio engineer, who also happens to be a fantastic musician, with the aim of providing original music for podcasts and similar productions through Narrative Audio Ltd.

So we enter 2018 with a little uncertainty but with big plans and the drive to achieve them! For us personally, 2017 has been a difficult year. Along with both of us dealing with a stressful work environment, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and Lil has been struggling with anxiety and recently diagnosed Fibromyalgia. Of course producing a podcast comes with its own pressures, but it ‘s also brought us great rewards. Your enthusiasm and support has truly buoyed us through a difficult year and helped us stay optimistic about the future. In fact we have some things coming up in 2018 that we hope that you will appreciate!

2018 will see us open an online merchandise store! Fancy yourself a Knock Once For Yes T-shirt? We will be releasing some Knock Once For Yes logo items as well as some of Lil’s original designs. We are also working on some great new content to supplement the main show. We are in the process of lining up interviews and tales from paranormal investigators as well as some other big names in the field. We think you might be terrifically pleased by one or two (hint hint) and looking at recording the paranormal postcards blogs as spoken narratives for those who enjoy their spooky tales without the banter.

It’s just left for me to thank you all once again for joining us on our paranormal adventure. We hope you have had a great 2017 and that the new year will be even better!

All the best,

Fitz & Lil
